Iris Schäfer

Iris Schäfer, Dr. phil., is research assistant at the Institute for Children’s Literature Research at Goethe University in Frankfurt/Main, Germany. She studied Comparative Literature and German Studies (with a focus on: Children’s and Y.A. Literature Studies and Medieval Studies). Research interests: psychoanalytical approaches to children’s and youth media, girls‘ literature around 1900, illness, dream and fashion in children’s and youth media.

Kiera Vaclavik

Kiera Vaclavik

Kiera Vaclavik is Professor of Children’s Literature and Childhood Culture at Queen Mary University of London where she directs the Centre for Childhood Cultures.Her work brings children’s literature studies into dialogue with a range of other fields including classics, postcolonial studies, fashion and music. It is guided by comparative approaches, engaging with Francophone and Anglophone material, and tracing the movement of works not only across linguistic and national borders but also between media and forms.
